Managing Director Lionel Slade issued the following comment on why he feels

Company Profile
Geo-Bureau offers businesses an opportunity to exploit the benefits of
geographic statistics and also works with clients as consultants to provide a
wide range of effective business and technology solutions. Geo-Bureau's chief
products are community safety systems which benefit police forces, local
authorities, regional and national government departments, utility companies,
SME (small medium enterprise), and other organisations such as 'Crime
Stoppers'. Geo-Bureau is committed to academic research and is currently
partially funding two full-time PhD. research posts.
History
Geo-Bureau began as a small consultancy specialising in software development
and bespoke GIS application development for departments in Local Government. By
recruiting consultants and experts from a variety of specialist fields the
Geo-Bureau has been expanding steadily since November 2003. We can now offer a
competitive, highly professional and expert service across a range of IT
sectors.
Company Expertise
Our fields of expertise are available for all levels of projects spanning from
the creation of a simple web-site to the development of a fully featured
corporate GIS extending into all aspects of Local Government businesses.
Geo-Bureau recently moved from Innovation House, Treforest to a larger office
suite capable of meeting our expansion plans. Geo-Bureau is now at 47
Cowbridge Road, Pontyclun.

Profile of Key Staff
Lionel Slade BSc MSc IEng MBCS CITP
Managing Director
Whilst working as the lead developer of GPS/GIS integration projects with Local
Government Lionel developed and showed a talent for high-complexity computer
programming. Lionel's unique knowledge and expertise has been the result
of over ten years LG experience in Highway Maintenance, Environmental,
Surveying, and more recently Crime & Disorder. During his
time in LG Lionel has gained a rare and varied experience across
most aspects of Local Government.
In November 2003, Lionel left Local Government to establish Geo-Bureau, since
this time he has been expanding this business whilst also studying for a
PhD. in Computer Science at the University of Glamorgan. Lionel is a
Chartered Information Technology Professional and a registered Incorporated
Engineer with British Engineering Council he has a degree in Civil Engieering
and Master of Science degree in GIS.

Prof George Taylor BSc Cert Ed PhD. CEng MBCS CITP
Non-Executive Director
Professor George Taylor is Research Coordinator for the School of Computing and
is leader of the GIS Research Centre in the School. His current research
interests focus on the integration of Geographical Information Systems with
satellite navigation systems, such as the Global Positioning System (GPS).
Professor Taylor was formerly a Royal Society Industry Fellow, a lecturer in
the Department of Geomatics, University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Professor
Taylor has 20 years of research experience, with over 100 academic publications
and numerous funded industrial collaborative research projects.
